A recent clinical study published in ECAM journal indicated GutGard, a flavonoid rich, deglycyrrhizinated standardized extract of licorice from Natural Remedies, alleviates symptoms of functional dyspepsia

The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study enrolled subjects with functional dyspepsia symptoms (upper abdominal fullness, upper abdominal pain, belching, bloating, early satiety, regurgitation, heartburn, loss of appetite etc.).

Study subjects received either GutGard (75 mg twice daily) or placebo for 30 days. The GutGard treated group showed significant improvement in global assessment of efficacy and quality of life (as measured by short form Nepean Dyspepsia Index) in comparison to the placebo group. GutGard was found to be safe and well tolerated by all subjects. For further information: www.gutgard.com
